First Product Manager
San Francisco +1
Mid-level +2 · Full time

Why is this role awesome?
As Siteline's first PM, you’ll lead product development on a platform reshaping $1T of construction payments for contractors. You’ll work closely with CEO Gloria Lin, the first PM at Stripe and co-inventor of Apple Pay, along with a world-class team of software & construction experts.

🏗 What problems are we solving?

We're on a mission to modernize finance for construction, an industry that employs 1 out of every 10 workers, but lacks good software tools to get the job done. Payments in construction are fundamentally broken — the antiquated billing process hasn't evolved in decades, and construction is one of the slowest industries to get paid in. We've found a unique wedge into this huge market and are growing quickly.

🔨 Why are we building this?

Millions of hardworking people are affected by this broken system — in turn making construction more expensive and inefficient for society every year. When everyone up and down the chain is on the same page with payments, contractors can focus on actually building, instead of mountains of paperwork. We’re reimagining construction finance to help contractors get paid, grow their business, and build a better future for all of us.

🕺 The Role

Siteline is looking for our first Product Manager to lead product strategy and execution. In this role, you'll be impacting $1 trillion of construction payments by developing consumer-grade software for an industry filled with outdated tools.

You'll have an instrumental role in taking the company from initial product-market fit to the next stage of growth. As the founding member of the product management org, you'll also help set the tone and culture of the organization for years to come.

You'll work closely with our engineering & design team, Head of Construction Solutions, and CEO. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to get involved in many aspects of a fast-growing company.

We're early, so you'll have an opportunity to shape not just our product, but the company itself: who we work with and how we work together. This role can be done in the San Francisco office, or anywhere in the US.

🎒 Responsibilities

  • Product strategy: You'll gather and prioritize roadmap features, understand the competitive landscape, make difficult tradeoffs, and set goals that help the company win.
  • Building product: You'll help lead the development of new product initiatives, from developing requirements to ensuring a high-quality product.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Work with Engineering, Design, Construction Solutions, Marketing, and the rest of the team from discovery to launching features, driving teams to do their best work.
  • Create customer delight: Deeply understand and synthesize customer needs to drive adoption and ensure that our customers are successful and happy.
  • Measure impact: Collect user feedback, analyze qualitative and quantitative data to evaluate impact, and continually iterate to reach our goals.

👋 What We're Looking For

  • Great communicator: You’re straight up and honest. You quickly communicate problems, ideas, timelines, and feedback to the rest of the team.
  • Demonstrated leadership & execution: You're a proven leader with a history of shipping high-quality products efficiently.
  • User empathy: You're ready to dive deep to understand our users' needs and workflows, and can translate them into our product roadmap.
  • Technical knowledge: You have some fluency in how good engineering works, how to estimate timelines, and how best to communicate with engineers
  • Adaptable: You're excited to work in a fast-paced, small team startup environment where you are exposed to every aspect of the business.
  • Humble: You show a strong desire to learn from those around you and welcome feedback daily, seeing it as an opportunity to grow and become a better you.

🍪 Brownie Points

  • Startup experience: You've worked in a fast-paced startup environment in the past and are excited to do it again.
  • Experience in construction or other old school industry: Not required, but great to have
  • B2B SaaS experience: You're familiar working on complex workflows and understand the cadences of sales, support, and feature releases.

🎳 Benefits

  • Top-notch equipment setup
  • Competitive salary and equity compensation
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Flexible vacation
  • WFH stipend and utilities reimbursement
  • 401(k)
  • Work with our world-class team! From Hudson Yards to Apple Pay, Google, Stripe, & PlanGrid, we've tackled ambitious projects used by millions of people around the world.
  • Access to our investor community, including network and mentorship programs. Our leadership (including a serial entrepreneur) places a high value on mentoring future leaders and entrepreneurs.

👫 Company values

Be worthy of trust

We work to create an environment where our customers, partners, and teammates feel safe and supported, always. We take a long-term view of relationships and follow through on the promises we make. We are committed to building a culture where everyone feels like they belong and actively prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Focus and flow

We are selective about the problems we solve and how we solve them. Focusing on the right things helps us work in a flow state, resulting in more creative ideas, faster progress, and greater impact. We establish clear areas of ownership, so we know who's got the ball on what.

Create magic

We love our customers and work backwards from their needs. We sweat the details and work relentlessly to build smarter systems that solve real problems. We take big swings and look toward the long term, finding moments of delight along the way.

Keep learning

We are curious, open-minded, and unafraid of the unknown. We actively invest in learning because we believe that when we grow as individuals, we grow as a team. We challenge ourselves to aim higher and make better mistakes every day.

At Siteline, we're looking for people with passion, grit, and integrity. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't precisely match the job description. Your skills and passion will stand out—and set you apart—especially if your career has taken some extraordinary twists and turns. We know that diverse perspectives foster the innovation we need to be successful, and we are committed to building a team that encompasses a variety of backgrounds, experiences, and skills. Join us.
